Michelle Silvers
Chief Executive Officer and Director
Michelle is a lawyer with a wealth of experience in dispute resolution, commercial litigation and litigation funding.
As CEO of Court House Capital, she is responsible for all aspects of the business including approving, managing and overseeing litigation funding projects.
With a career spanning over two decades, Michelle has established herself as a well-known leader in litigation funding and was instrumental in the creation of the Australian litigation funding market in 1999.Michelle has been involved in funding of more than 200 commercial claim disputes for litigants in Australia and New Zealand.
Matthew Hyder
Director
Matthew has a built a reputation of delivering strong returns for investors over more than ten years in property development and investment with an average annual return for investors of 29.3%.
The two firms he founded, Legacy Property and Stirling Property Funds, are active stable businesses with outstanding teams and high- performance cultures.
Recognising the gap in the market and the many close similarities between property development and litigation funding including network deal origination, emphasis on robust due diligence, selection and close management of advisors and capital raising, he seeks to make this as successful as his property businesses.
Matt Hourn
Director
Matt is one of Australia’s leading commercial litigation lawyers specialising in complex and large scale litigation. With over 20 years experience in commercial litigation, having conducted hundreds of cases in State and Federal Courts and Tribunals..
Matt has an enviable track record with a 98% success rate in over 500 litigation cases since the commencement of his firm, Neville Hourn & Borg some 12 years ago. This success is primarily due to Matthew’s ability to assess cases and strategically prosecute them to a successful outcome.
Matt is the perfect addition to CHC’s Investment Committee, providing a valuable commercial and legal overview. Matthew’s commercial insight and legal expertise is a valuable addition to CHC’s Investment Committee.
Kennedy Potter
Litigation Investment Manager
Kennedy has vast experience as an insurance litigator and brings a unique perspective to CHC.
Kennedy has an extensive background in insurance working for a major international broker, Lloyd’s syndicate and more extensively for one of Australia’s prominent insurance litigation firms. Kennedy also spent time as a member of the Disputes and Employment Team in the General Counsel’s Office at EY. In addition to her law degree, Kennedy has a Bachelor of Communications (Journalism) from UTS and has worked in PR & marketing.
Kennedy is a great addition to CHC bringing her ability to digest diverse areas of law and intricate factual scenarios while also asking the right questions to ensure comprehensive due diligence.
Eric Ooms
Chief Financial Officer
Eric joined the business in February 2022 and is responsible for Accounting and Finance at CHC.
Eric has wide-ranging experience as a finance leader across a diverse range of businesses.
He is qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and holds a marketing and economics degree from HEAO Amsterdam as well as a Bachelor of Accounting from the University of Technology Sydney.
